Production

Chambal’s manufacturing hub is located in Gadepan, about 35 kms from Kota in the state of Rajasthan. Its two highly advanced, technically sophisticated urea plants have a combined capacity of more than 2 million metric tonnes of urea per annum. These fully automated plants use the most advanced technologies from Denmark, Italy, the United States and Japan.

Health, Environment and Safety

Apart from its size and technological superiority, what sets the Chambal plants apart is the high priority given to environmental protection, health and safety. The safety norms followed by Chambal are far more stringent than those mandated by the government. The company has implemented the Process Safety Management system developed by Occupational Safety and Health Administration, USA across its operations. In recognition of its commitment to health, safety and environment, Chambal has won the Sword of Honour from the British Safety Council for two consecutive years, 2007 and 2008. It has been awarded the Environment Management System Standard ISO 14001, the Quality Management System Standard ISO 9001 and the Occupational Health and Safety Management System Standard OHSAS 18001 certifications.

Chambal’s urea is marketed under the brand name Uttam Veer and is very popular among farmers in eleven states in northern, central, western and eastern India. The company has a widespread marketing network of 12 regional offices, 1700 dealers and 20,000 village level outlets. Apart from fertilisers, Chambal also offers a range of products that constitute a complete basket of much-needed inputs to the farmer. These include seeds, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides and other agri products.
