TECHNICAL EDUCATION - SAKSHAM

CFCL launched Project Saksham with a view to making Rajasthan’s youth employable and building an ecosystem of empowerment with scale and speed. The technical education intervention is designed to help youth from underserved communities increase their employability through skilling and livelihood generation activities. The company’s efforts are two pronged: providing vocational training through its vocational training centres (VTCs) and educating youth in employable trades through its adopted Government Industrial Training institutes (ITI’s).

As part of the programme,CFCL has adopted industrial training institutes (ITIs) at Sangod, Sultanpur, Baran, Jhalawar and Khanpur and a Polytechnic College in Baran

CFCL has also partnered the Rajasthan government to set up and train youth especially women in vocational training centres (VTCs). The company runs four VTCs in Simliya, Palaytha, Kundanpur and Gadepan villages of Kota and Baran. The centres have been set up in collaboration with the Rajasthan government while District Adult Education Association is the implementation partner.

The centres provide training in livelihood oriented courses such as tailoring and stitching, beautician course, basic computer literacy and, house wiring & motor rewinding, repair of electrical appliances, data entry, etc.
